General Update - June 2021
Date: 17 June 2021
Unfortunately following the Government's announcement on Monday delaying the move to Step 4 of the Roadmap Out of Lockdown we still remain un-viable to re-open at this time, however we feel very positive with the rollout of the vaccination programme to everyone over the age of 18 years this week that things will look brighter in a few weeks (fingers crossed).
We do miss everyone and thank you for your patience and understanding. The safety of all our members is our main priority.
General Update - May 2021
Date: 21 May 2021
It's wonderful that things are moving in the right direction and great to hear that many of you have started your vaccination journey.
Now that we are in Step 3 of the Roadmap Out Of Lockdown there are still many restrictions in place that make it is sadly un-viable for us to re-open at this time. We are missing you all and so looking forward to welcoming you all back very soon and hope the next Step in the roadmap will allow this to happen. We also have members who have not yet had their first dose of vaccine and hope the next few weeks will allow them time to get vaccinated and that we can all return safely to classes as soon as possible.
General Update - April 2021
Date: 20 April 2021
Hope everyone is well and enjoyed the Easter Holidays.
We are waiting on details from the government for updated guidelines on re-opening. We have been advised that there will be different regulations to follow when we do open for classes, bands and events. Unfortunately until we receive this information we are unable to confirm dates, but hope it won't be too long. In the meantime don't forget you can join us online for lots of dancing and exercise, you even get to see my smiling face.
We would like to send our deepest sympathies to those who have lost or have seriously ill family and or friends during this time.
We thank you all for your continued support and look forward to seeing you behind a mask soon.
Date: 27 January 2021
Hope everyone is keeping safe and well. As the pandemic continues we just wanted to let you know that we are still hoping that we will be able to re-open later in the year with some wonderful events.
In the meantime we are still bringing you online line dance and LDX (line dance exercise) classes every week. A huge thanks to those who have been sharing social media posts and generally spreading the word. It's also great to see there are some lovely new dances still being released.
Learn 2 Line Dance:
Keeping in touch with the line dance community is making a huge difference to many of you, so many thanks to those who are voting for 'Dance of the Week', letting us know your requests for 'Classics' or 'Recaps'.
Online LDX is 30 minutes line dance based exercise tutorials, each tutorial has a different music theme i.e. 1970's, All No. 1's, Disco, Country etc.
Exercise is a great way to keep fit, healthy and improve the immune system.
We are missing our Culpepper Community, so why not let us know how you are doing.
Happy New Year!
Date: 1 January 2021
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and back on the dance floor 2021. We hope you were able to have a lovely New Year's Eve, we did miss you all and a solo rendition of Auld Lang Syne is not quite the same
We have a pencil ready in hope that things improve over the next few months and we are able to begin filling in the events calendar once again.
Thank you for your requests (keep requesting) and voting for dance of the week at Learn 2 Line Dance, even during a difficult year there have been some lovely dances released. I know some of you are keeping a list of those you want to go over when we are back on the dance floor.
It's been great to keep in touch with you all via social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), email and text etc. Remember you are all welcome to join any of our groups.
Thank you to everyone for your support during 2020 and the good wishes sent for 2021.
Date: 7 December 2020
In light of recent reports from Basildon Council we wanted to make you aware of the high numbers of COVID-19 cases in the area. We do take some comfort in not being able to re-open at this time, in that our members are keeping safe.
When we were asked to temporarily close our doors back in March, 2020, we decided to bring you 'online classes'. These were 1 hour line dance classes and it was our first experience of providing an online teaching programme. We received some fantastic feedback letting us know how much you enjoyed being able to learn and dance with 'me' on a screen in your own home. We also appreciated the comments on how we could improve your home online learning experience. We have therefore spent the last few months creating a completely new service that we feel is more flexible and affordable, we also wanted it to be able to go hand in hand with in-person classes when they return. Meaning if you miss an in-person class you will be able to go online and catch up on some of the new dances/recaps/classics taught during the week, you can choose what you want to learn and when you want to learn it. The new format is based on individual dance tutorials available in a variety of option plans that suit you. Each week there will be new tutorials of newly released dances, classics, recaps and more.
Beginner Only (Absolute - High Beginner)
Country Access Only (Improver & Intermediate level to country music only)
Multi-Genre Access Only (Improver & Intermediate level to multi-genre music, excludes country music)
ALL Access allows you access to everything (beginner, improver, intermediate, Classics, LDX)
LDX a.k.a Linedancercise (new 30 minute sessions)
We do hope you will join us and any recommendations to friends and family would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the new website: https://www.learn2linedance.co.uk
You can like us on Facebook and Instagram where you can vote for your favourite dance of the week, send us requests and lots more.
Until we meet on the dance floor again I look forward to being with you in your home and thank you for your support.
Any questions or queries please let us know.

NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS 2nd December, 2020
Due to the recent government announcement, Essex has been placed into Tier 2 Restrictions with a 2 weekly review.Tier 2 Restrictions mean that unless we are able to provide substantial meals to our members, the club must continue to remain CLOSED.
If we were allowed to open new guidance for group exercise has also been reviewed and states that venues must remain COVID-Secure and that there must not be ANY Interactions between households. " Participants should not mix before, during or after the class, this includes travelling to class (no car sharing), arrival (waiting outside the venue), leaving (exiting the venue) and no interaction in the car park. During class attendees must also adhere to a minimum of 2m space between participants for static class formats and 3m space for active formats". As line dancing is an active format we would need to ensure that each participant must remain 2m from any other household at all times and have a minimum of 3m space on the dance floor during class, this would restrict classes to a maximum of 6 people. Improving ventilation is also advised as it would also reduce the potential exposure to the virus to our members and would mean that doors and windows would need to be open at all times which we feel during the winter months would not be pleasant.
This is a difficult time for all of us, we are missing everyone and dancing too. We do hope that the situation improves in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your support, understanding and we look forward to better times ahead.
Date: 26 November 2020
Today the government announced that Essex will be placed in Tier 2 Restrictions when lockdown ends next week. These restrictions have unclear implications for us so we are waiting for the 'powers that be' for clarity. As soon as we have more information we will let you know.
We thank you for your patience as we know that lots of you are really missing your dancing.
Date: 1 November 2020
Due to the government announcement of another National 1 Month Lockdown starting on Thursday 5th November, 2020 there are some changes to classes this week.
Classes will remain OPEN on Monday 2nd, Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November, 2020.
All classes from Thursday 5th November, 2020 will be cancelled and refunds issued.
It is the government's intention to lift the lockdown after Wednesday 2nd December, 2020 and place areas of England back into Tier Restriction. We will monitor the situation and wait for further instruction as to when we will be able to re-open.
Thank you to everyone who came along to classes over the last month and it was lovely to see you all.

October Class & General Update
Date: 16 October 2020
Firstly a huge thanks to everyone for following all our COVID-19 rules & guidelines at class this week, we really appreciate it.
NEW ALERT LEVEL.
As you are probably aware Basildon has moved into a HIGH Local Covid Alert Level. This change will NOT have any impact on our classes. During the last few weeks we have encouraged NO seating/mixing of separate households indoors which will continue to implement. If you are travelling by car with another household the government advises the wearing of a mask while travelling and upon arrival please continue to remain 2 meters apart.
Thank you to everyone who has mastered the art of Booking Classes Online, this system will remain in place for the foreseeable future, so if you haven't mastered it yet or are still having any issuing in 'how to book' please let us know and we are happy to provide assistance. Please make sure when you book online that you receive a confirmation email, you will also get a 24 hour reminder of the class you are booked into. If you don't do email and book by phone please make sure you receive a text confirmation from me.
CHANGE TO SOME CLASSES
We have monitored classes over the past few weeks and due to lack of demand the following classes will no longer continue:

At this moment in time the Tuesday afternoon Country Improver/Intermediate Class 2pm-3pm will remain available on a week to week basis subject to demand.
All other classes continue as usual.

Date: 11 October 2020
Hope you all enjoyed your first week back to in-person classes. Thank you to all those who came along and we miss those who are not yet able to return. A few have asked if it is possible for Online Tutorials, we are working on it.
Great to see that most are using the online booking system. If anyone needs any help, let us know.
If you pay cash please remember to place it in an envelope with your name and membership number on the front.
All classes are bookable online two weeks in advance. So if you come to class on a Monday, ON Tuesday you will be able to book for a week Monday.
Did you know if you always keep 2 metres from anyone outside of your household you will not be considered a contact?
Keep 2 metres apart - Keep your class open - You or your friends won't have to isolate if someone tests positive.
Monday - Beginner/Improver Mix Class at 2pm (repeated Thursday morning)
Tuesday - Improver/Intermediate Country Class at 2pm (repeated Thursday evening)
Wednesday - Improver Mix at 2pm
Bookings for afternoon classes are low, so if you cannot book the morning/evening class of your choice why not try an afternoon slot.

Broken Toe & Opening Update
Date: 21 September 2020
Just wanted to give you a little toe update and thankfully I can say that my foot has improved a lot over the last few days. I would also like to thank everyone who sent lovely messages.
We will be sending out an email later this week with more details on our class re-opening; days, times, how to book etc., so fingers crossed we will be back on the dance floor very soon.
Line Dance Class Update
Date: 24 August 2020
Just wanted to give you an update on how things are progressing. We have planned and prepared ready for our In-Person classes to return, we have planned and prepared for Online Classes to return. Unfortunately due to my own 'not watching where I was going' I broke my toe, no sympathy needed I didn't have shoes on either. Anyway as soon as I can get my shoes on we will be ready to get back to some dancing. So thank you for your understanding and sorry to disappoint those who were very keen to come back.
Date: 11 August 2020
Due to the continuing COVID-19 situation we have once again had to make some changes to future events.
A reminder that the Tea Party with Martin Jaye has been rescheduled to 2021, date to be confirmed and all tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event.
With the continued limitations on social distancing we have decided to reschedule the Quiz Night that was due to take place on 5th September, 2020, we will reschedule again and let you know a date as soon as COVID-19 allows us too. All tickets will be valid.
Nashville Trio Royal South were due to appear here on 25th & 26th September, 2020, due to the unfortunate situation they have advised us they will be rescheduling the events, dates to be confirmed and all tickets will remain valid. Check out their social media for more details.
We are continuing to work on preparing for 'In Person' classes returning with all the guidance as per the government. We had a fantastic response from members who wanted to return and will let you know asap dates etc. so thank you for your patience.
Royal South gig update.
Date: 10 August 2020
Royal South have announced the postponement of their upcoming UK and Ireland tour, including both Culpeppers shows on 25th & 26th September 2020. The trio will return in 2021 with new dates to be confirmed. All tickets remain valid.
Royal South announcement:
"Well, we’ve been crossing our fingers as hard as we could hoping that the COVID-19 pandemic would ease off and that we’d be able to do our UK Tour this year. Typing this post has made us emotional because this annual tour is something we dearly cherish.
Unfortunately, after speaking with the venues, there’s no way we are going to be able to make it happen and will be postponing the UK and Ireland dates. We’ll be rescheduling the dates as soon as possible. If you’ve already bought tickets they’ll be good for next year. Thank you for your understanding. We love our international fans, and can't wait to see you in 2021! Stay safe and healthy out there."
Date: 24 July 2020
Firstly we wanted to update about the changes to Online Classes. Monday 27th July, 2020 will be our last week of 'classes'. All those who have subscribed or purchased single classes should have received an email with all relevant information by now, if you did not receive it please let us know.
We are currently working on a new Online Line Dance and LDX (Lindancercise) format. Following feedback we will provide the new format, even when 'in person' classes return. We hope this will allow you to learn, catch-up, do more at a flexible, suitable and adaptable time. Here is a link to our Facebook page, which will give you additional information in the coming weeks.
or follow us on Instagram
As most of you know the Culpepper USA Tour was due to take place this September, however due to the Covid-19 situation it has been rescheduled to September, 2021, therefore we have a limited amount of new spaces available so if you are interested in joining us please let us know and we will provide you with further information over the coming weeks.
August Tea Party.
Due to the current 'Ban' of indoor live music, please be advised that the Tea Party with Martin Jaye has been rescheduled to 2021 (date to be announced) and all tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event.
Return of Classes. (drum roll)
We are working closely with government guidelines etc. and are hoping to return to limited one hour classes in the early autumn. If you are interested in returning to 'in person' classes please let us know the following:
Preferred Time (morning, afternoon, evening)
Preferred genre MIX or COUNTRY
As part of returning we are preparing ways to pay: online and in person, making it accessible for all. By not allowing new memberships, or any non-members to attend classes we want to prioritise our members safety.
We understand it is a difficult time for some and that you may not want to return just yet, however if you have any queries, questions or additional information please ask.
At this moment the government guidelines do not allow the use of dance floors for social activities, therefore until such times as advised we are still unable to bring you any weekend socials for the foreseeable future. If/when this changes we will let you know asap.
Online Classes Update.
Date: 1 July 2020
We would like to thank everyone who has supported our Online Classes, without you our financial situation would be very difficult. I am sure you can appreciate that getting Online Classes up and running so quickly was a great challenge. We have since appreciated all the feedback and will be making some changes to how Online Tutorials will proceed. We will stop providing 1 Hour classes from the END of July, however all those who currently subscribe fully will be able gain access to the lessons already provided free of charge until the end of the year. We will email full subscribers directly with more information.
We will be launching a new Online Tutorial Website which will include individual dance tutorials and dance along, as well as other features. We intend for the new site to be more flexible and accessible giving you the freedom to choose what and when you want to dance by levels etc. There will be various plans to suit. We will let you know more information as soon as possible.
July Events Rescheduled.
Date: 1 July 2020
As most of you are aware, we are still awaiting guidance from the government regarding the reopening of dance floors, with no hint of this changing in the very near future we have decided to postpone the July Rescheduled Spring Tea Party and Sunday Shindig (we're sad too). We will let you know when the new dates are as soon as we can. We are taking each month as it comes and will make decisions on future events as seem appropriate. Please keep a look out for future date announcements.
Date: 23 June 2020
We just wanted to update you on the new rules regarding the easing of lockdown and the reopening of social clubs etc. We are awaiting full guidelines from the government for confirmation, however I thought I would let you know what my understanding is at the moment.
Social clubs can reopen on 4th July, 2020 providing they can follow the COVID19 advice of attempting to achieve a 2 metre social distancing rule and if not it MUST be at least 1 metre plus. Those wishing to use indoor social club facilities must also have table service and can only meet friends from 1 other household at a time. Unfortunately NO dance floor area can be used until further notice. With this in mind and understanding that a majority of our members attend the club to socially mix and dance, we will remain closed until such time as the dance floor area can be used again. (Hopefully not too long).
We will continue to provide online classes and thank you for your continued support during this time.
Change from Live Classes to Pre-Recorded.
Date: 5 April 2020
The last 2 weeks we have enjoyed bringing to you our line dance classes online, however we have encountered a few technical issues on our end. Some issues have resulted in re-filming some classes to be able to make them available as a 'video', therefore we have chosen to do some test pre-recorded classes. The online classes will still be available at the same usual time of 11am and 3pm Monday to Friday and will still be recorded as 'live', I wouldn't want you to miss out on my antics. All new videos will now only have an approximately 5 minute 'Stay Tuned, Starting Soon' intro. With this we hope to able to bring you some 'Special Classes' in the coming weeks too and possible 'socials'.
Here is a link to our online Classes. https://www.culpepperclub.co.uk/online-classes
The Online Class Improver/Easy Intermediate Country #2 from Thursday had an issue, it has been re-filmed and is now available to watch. For anyone who has already purchased the live individual class please get in touch. This does NOT apply to Monthly Subscribers.
